오클랜드시와 Farmers 가 주최하는 뉴질랜드 여름철 대표행사 중 하나인 Christmas Santa Parade 가 성료하였습니다.
2011년 11월 27일 낮 12시 30분 오클랜드 한인회의 선두로 시작된 Pre-Prade는 뉴질랜드인들을 포함한 전세계 관광객들에게 한국의 전통문화를 소개하고, 뉴질랜드 현지 사회와 한인 교포 사회의 연대감을 강화하도록 하였습니다.

2011년 11월 27일 낮의 뜨거운 열기에도 불구하고 수 만 명의 오클랜드 시민들은 시내에서 벌어진 제 76회 산타 퍼레이드를 보기 위하여 모여들었다.
시내 퀸 스트리트를 중심으로 도로 양편에는 수많은 어린이들이 줄을 지어 열광하며, 지나가는 2백 여 개의 행렬에 환호성을 질렀다.
파머즈사가 후원하는 흰 색 수염과 빨간 색 옷의 산타가 지나가면서 마지막을 장식하였으며, 약 4천 여명의 자원 봉사자들이 이번 산타 퍼레이드에 참여하였다.
오클랜드 어린이 크리스마스 퍼레이드 트러스트의 마이클 바넷 회장은 매년 산타 퍼레이드의 열기가 더해가면서, 행렬에 참여하는 행사도 다양해지고 있으며, 이를 보러 오는 시민들의 수도 늘어나고 있다고 밝히면서, 이번 퍼레이드가 지금까지의 산타 퍼레이드 중 가장 볼 만한 것이었다고 덧붙였다.
