the 2024 Quiz On Korea in New Zealand!

 

The Quiz On Korea is a quiz competition on Korean language and culture for non-Korean New Zealanders

who are studying Korean and interested in Korean culture.

 

There will be online preliminary rounds and a final round held in Korea.

If you win in the preliminary rounds, you will be invited to the final round in Korea!

- Key Dates -

 

• Application Deadline for the 2024 Quiz On Korea: Sunday, 19th May 2024 11:59 PM

• Preliminary Round 1 (Online in New Zealand)

  *Participants can choose one session from the following three:

   · Session 1: Thursday, 24th May 2024 3PM~5PM

   · Session 2: Friday, 25th May 2024 10AM~12PM

   · Session 3: Friday, 25th May 2024 (Fri) 3PM~5PM

• Preliminary Round 2 (Online in New Zealand): Saturday, 22nd June 2024

• Final Round (Offline in Korea): September 8, 2024

  *Schedule for the final round visit to Korea: From 1st to 9th September 2024 (scheduled, subject to change depending on the organizer)

• Final Round Broadcast: 9th October 2024 (scheduled for Hangul Day special)

- Prizes -

 

• Participants who advance to the preliminary round 2 will receive gifts.

• The winner of the preliminary round 2 will be awarded a trophy and invited to the final round in Korea.

 

- Eligibility -

 

• Participants and their immediate families are NOT of Korean nationality or ethnicity. You are not eligible if you are an overseas Korean or have more than one immediate family member who is Korean

  *The purpose of the event is to enhance the perception of foreigners toward Korea, excluding overseas Koreans and their immediate families.

• Those aged 18 or older with excellent Korean language proficiency

• Those who have never participated in a Korean final round before

• Those who have no issues with visiting and staying in Korea during the final round period (early September)

• Those with sufficient knowledge and high interest in Korea

• Those who are suitable to represent New Zealand in the final round

  *Even if you are not a New Zealand national, you can participate in the preliminary rounds 1 and 2, but only New Zealand nationals can advance to the final round in Korea.

 

- Preliminary Rounds in New Zealand Information -

 

• To participate in the 2024 Quiz On Korea, you must complete the application by Sunday, 19th May 2024 , at [Link: https://forms.gle/o8R8htocFAvQCw29]

• Preliminary rounds 1 and 2 held in New Zealand will be conducted as online quiz competitions.

• More detailed information will be provided via email to applicants.

• Since preliminary rounds 1 and 2 are conducted online, participants must have stable and good internet and Wi-Fi. If a participant's connection is interrupted due to unstable internet, they will automatically be disqualified.

 

- Points to Note -

 

• If you participate in the final round held in Korea, all activities including the visit to Korea and the recording of the final round will be conducted entirely in Korean without interpretation. Communication among participants must also be in Korean.

• Those who have participated in a Korean final round in the past can participate in preliminary rounds 1 and 2 in New Zealand but cannot advance to the final round in Korea.

• Personal information will be collected for prize distribution, delivery of items necessary for the online preliminary round, and participant confirmation during the operation of the 2024 Quiz On Korea. This information will be kept by the relevant authority until the end of the event and will be destroyed thereafter. Please note that this personal information will only be used for the purpose of the 2024 Quiz On Korea and will not be used for any other purpose.

• During the course of the 2024 Quiz On Korea, preliminary rounds 1 and 2, and the final round, photos or videos may be taken. By applying, participants are considered to have agreed to this matter.

• The winner of preliminary round 2 must write a self-introduction in Korean.

• The winner of preliminary round 2 must film a self-introduction video in Korean, lasting 3 to 5 minutes.
